Zoox is on an ambitious journey to develop a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for cities and safely deploy such a robotaxi solution. The System Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team plays a foundational role in the company's success, responsible for constructing the safety case and fail-operational design for our autonomous driving robots before public road deployment. In this role, you will:
Oversee and manage the end-to-end SDMA clearance process, ensuring all program stages are executed efficiently while ensuring scalable and robust processes are implemented as the company expands
Lead a team of Technical Program Managers, providing guidance and support for multiple concurrent clearance programs, including live service, early milestone, and clearance
Develop and drive program schedules, milestones, and deliverables related to the safety and clearance of our autonomous robotaxi
Serve as the primary point of contact for all clearance-related activities, facilitating communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams
Define and manage the scope and timeline for the various clearance activities, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to the clearance programs while managing dependencies across various teams
Report on program status, risks, and progress to senior leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines
Qualifications
At least 8 years of experience in technical program management, with a proven track record of shipping complex, safety-critical systems
Experience managing and leading teams of program managers or technical leads
BS or MS in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Comprehensive knowledge of complex hardware and software development lifecycles
Experience in program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262 or other safety-related standards (e.g., IEC 61508, DO-178C)
Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry
Familiarity with systems engineering and requirements management
