We are currently looking for a Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our growing Finance team! In this role, you will report directly to the Director, Accounting. As Manager, Revenue Accounting, you will lead the implementation of processes, policies, and procedures ensuring the accuracy of accounting and reporting for revenue recognition (ASC 606). You will play a major part in the financial month-end closing and reporting process by managing complex journal entries and the revenue accounting recognition tool (RAR) for the company. You will partner with key business stakeholders and business finance partners to provide guidance on the revenue recognition for new products and services and to ensure adherence to applicable guidance, policies, and processes. You will need to have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and will need to be a leader that can motivate and develop the staff. 

As Manager, Revenue Accounting, your duties will include: 

  • Lead revenue accounting close activities, including the review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analyses for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes 

  • Review and assess sales contracts for appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606, performing research & documenting conclusions, as needed 

  • Collaborate with the upstream operational teams on improving revenue recognition processes & ensuring system accuracy 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support company-wide initiatives by informing and educating business partners on revenue accounting concepts and requirements for revenue recognition 

  • Support the quarterly and year-end inquiries, requests, and activities originating from our internal and external auditors 

  • Maintain a focus on continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing time/resource saving solutions 

  • Manage performance and ensure ongoing development of staff 

  • Execute special projects as needed 

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years of related experience in Revenue accounting 
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams of direct reports in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Experience organizing a large volume of information and identifying and deploying automation tools/solutions 
  • Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages 
  • Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience 
  • Complete ownership and accountability of the function given the deadline-oriented nature of the position 
  • Adaptable to changing business environment and organizational structure
