Job Title: Technical Manager / Sr. Technical Manager- Product Development- Base PLT

Location:  Pune, Avery Dennison Innovation & Knowledge Center, Ranjangaon MIDC.

The role is responsible for delivering  the initiatives planned as part of the Base PLT to achieve Material cost out and Growth in the Base Products .

  • This role will work very closely with the business teams, Product management team, procurement team to identify opportunities for the cost reduction and differentiation for South Asia and SSA/ME
  • Ensure that the ideas and projects identified follow the complete process of evaluation as per the Stage gating process and the planned dates of commercialization are met.
  • Identify opportunities for differentiation in the products and ensure that the product and Technology roadmap for the base portfolio is aligned and actions are taken.
  • Will ensure that the NPS numbers for the base portfolio from the perspective of new launches is met through timely execution of actions.
  • Will oversee the pilot coater operations  and ensure that the pilot coating capabilities are leveraged completely for business benefits.

External collaboration: 

  • Cross-functional interactions with procurement team to identify suppliers, connect with supplier/customer for innovation ideation and pipeline
  • Work closely with the segment and product management teams to uncover the unmet needs, work on requirements and deliver the same.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of Cost out numbers as per plan for both South Asia and SSA/ME
  • Delivery of all New Growth projects in the Base PLT for both South Asia and SSA.
  • Ensure delivery of NPS numbers and Profitability of the New projects to meet the business requirements.
  • Work closely with the cross functional teams to ensure that all bottlenecks are mitigated and project delivery happens on time.

Aspects Highly Preferred: 

  • Basic knowledge of polymer/rubber and allied materials.
  • Basic knowledge of testing equipments

Required Skills:

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
  • Strong Technical report writing & Presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work with regional colleagues
  • Strong command of common computer software programs (i.e. Google platforms etc.).

Education & Qualifications:

  • PhD in chemistry / Masters in Chemistry with good understanding of material science .
  • Experience :10+ Years Industry experience
  • Project Management skills – Drive; document and execute strategies when leading projects to meet the business needs and timeframes.
  • Excellent problem solving analysis and analytical skills.
  • Customer focus with strong customer relationship-building experience.
  • Excellent written technical and verbal communication and presentation skills.
