Manager, Quality Engineering

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Manager, Software Quality to lead our Quality Engineering team in delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable products. This role will drive quality strategy across the software development lifecycle, leveraging modern testing practices, test automation frameworks, and AI-driven quality engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate is both a strong technical leader and a people manager who can build high-performing teams, modernize testing practices, and embed quality ownership across engineering.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Manager, Quality Engineering on our team, you will:

  • Lead by example through hands-on involvement in test design, automation development, and exploratory testing when needed.
  • Define and execute a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with product and engineering goals.
  • Establish quality standards, KPIs, and metrics to measure product reliability, performance, and customer impact.
  • Promote a “shift-left” and quality-first culture across development teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, SDETs, and automation engineers.
  • Increase automation coverage across regression, smoke, and end-to-end test suites.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation.
  • Implement AI/ML-based testing tools for Test case generation, healing and execution.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Security teams to embed quality across releases.
  • Actively participate in critical test cycles, high-risk releases, and defect triage to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support release management with risk assessment and go/no-go recommendations.
  • Standardize QA processes, documentation, and best practices.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering.
  • 3+ years in a QA leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Testing and Agile/Scrum methodologies
    • Test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
    • API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.)
    • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Experience implementing automation strategy at scale.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, test strategy, and release management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

BONUS POINTS FOR

  • Experience with AI-driven testing platforms or ML-based quality tools.
  • Exposure to cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Load Ninja).
  • Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
  • Background in data analytics for quality metrics.
  • Knowledge of micro-services and event-driven architectures at enterprise scale
  • Experience validating payment platforms, including EMV, card reader integrations, and transaction lifecycle testing.
  • Experience in test development, test augmentation, and building automated test frameworks.
  • Understanding of the mindset of “Fail Fast, Learn Fast” and continuous improvement
