OUR DESIRED OUTCOMES:

This position will oversee the entire program management and data entry operation for all seven counties in Region 8, inclusive of all reporting to Michigan Department of Corrections. This position has responsibility for contract and performance compliance with the Michigan Department of Corrections programs. The Manager, Program & Data will be responsible for procuring and managing contracts with vendors providing mental health services and housing. This individual will transcribe information into a uniform data collection spreadsheet provided by Michigan Department of Corrections. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy with an extreme amount of attention to detail. Operationally, this position oversees delivery of services being provided in accordance with the MDOC Service Parameter guidelines outlined in the Kinexus Group’s contract, and overseeing the execution from staff providing such services. Establishing great partnerships with the local parole offices, representative of Region 8, is a key focus and expectation.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

The Manager, Program & Data is a key leader within the Offender Success Team. They will be given the tools and support needed to carry out and execute all the functions for the position in the best of their ability.  

  • Establishes and oversees the process for implementing the OS program, including but not limited to, preparation of monthly reports and other applicable systems to ensure contract goals and objectives are met.
  • Responsible for the Michigan Department of Corrections contract, performance, compliance management and Project Manager duties.
  • Manages attendance, performance, development, training and discipline for direct reports.
  • Budget and resource allocation and management while working with Kinexus Group’s finance department.
  • Plans, organizes, controls, integrates, monitors and evaluates the services provided by contractors/vendors engaged in re-entry services.
  • Oversee and develop policies, systems, resources and services to support returning citizens to the community while working with Kinexus Group’s policy department.
  • Contract creation, maintenance, and negotiation with all subcontractors for grants held with the Offender Success Program.
  • Assist with all subcontractor recruitment, specifically with a high attention to detail recruiting private housing landlords to provide contracted housing, and available rent options post transition.
  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database system, and transcribe data directly from service providers and/or vendors.
  • Receive, track and enter data from check requests submitted by Resource Specialists to Kinexus Group’s finance department.
  • Reconcile data with Resource Specialist and the Kinexus Group’s finance department to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Work closely with the Kinexus Group’s finance team to have timely and accurate expenditure entry.
  • Oversee training of new OS staff and unified service implementation for all of region 8.
  • Identify available grant funding to provide supportive services to returning offenders and work with the Director of Offender Services and Kinexus Group to provide technical assistance for submitting grant proposals as determined appropriate.
  • Ensure the full integration of larger Kinexus Group Team to reduce duplication of effort, streamline services, and maximize all resources in support of the right service at the right time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Non-Profit Administration or related field
  • Three (3) years’ experience in program reporting and oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excel subject matter expert

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3-5 years in program or grant administration
  • Extensive knowledge of manipulating data sets, and experience in Excel
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge in reentry or corrections process
  • Contract management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.  
  • Must be willing and able to travel within Region 8.
