Role Overview:
GCS is JioStar’s growth engine focused on acquiring and scaling new and mid-market advertisers across digital and cross-screen platforms. The team drives incremental revenue through structured GTM, outcome-led selling, and platform solutioning across Mobile, CTV and omnichannel formats. GCS combines commercial ownership with data, measurement, and ad-tech enablement- making it a high-impact, growth-oriented mandate within JioStar’s revenue architecture.
We are seeking a highly analytical and market-obsessed individual to drive predictive ad sales intelligence across our Sports portfolio. In this role, you will manage a continuous market surveillance system that tracks the Indian SMB, D2C, and Startup ecosystems. By synthesizing traditional media spending data with alternative market signals (like VC funding and app-install velocity), you will identify high-intent advertisers before they actively enter the market. The ideal candidate blends strong data acumen with a passion for uncovering hidden business trends, translating complex datasets into compelling, data-led actionable clients for our frontline sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Intelligence Systems: Oversee and scale market tracking frameworks, converting raw volume data across TV, Digital Video, and Print into reliable revenue proxies and actionable lead-generation tools.
Predictive Lead Generation: Utilize alternative market signals (e.g., startup funding rounds, social signals, app performance metrics, hiring trends) to score and prioritize SMB and Startup clients based on their likelihood to invest in premium sports media.
Track the Digital Ecosystem: Monitor alternative data sources (such as app analytics and startup databases) to identify brands hitting "performance marketing saturation" that are ready to scale into top-of-funnel brand-building campaigns.
Drive Sales Strategy: Translate complex market intelligence into weekly, prioritized lead lists and strategic narratives for the SMB Sales Head, equipping the frontline team with data-backed reasons to pitch.
Competitor & Platform Tracking: Maintain a rigorous intelligence tracker on competing platforms (including YouTube, Meta, OTT, and traditional TV) to identify share-of-wallet opportunities and uncover first-time premium video advertisers.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Proficiency in handling traditional media data (e.g., TAM, BARC, Ad servers) alongside alternative digital data sources (e.g., Sensor Tower, Data.ai, Tracxn, etc.).
Deep understanding of the Indian Startup, D2C, and VC ecosystems, including familiarity with associated digital performance marketing metrics (LTV, CAC, App Installs, etc.).
Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and strategic actionable items.
Advanced data manipulation skills with a high degree of comfort in MS Excel/Google Sheets.
Excellent communication and storytelling abilities with sharp business acumen.
High attention to detail, curiosity-driven, and a proactive mindset.
Preferred Education and Experience
Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or Media Studies (MBA preferred).
4-6 years of experience in market research, strategy, insights, or analytics within the media, advertising, or consulting domains.
Demonstrated experience in building client or market intelligence frameworks.
Exposure to the sports/media advertising industry will be an added advantage.
