The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Manager, Operations, Transfers, to join our Operations team.

Reporting to the Director, Operations - Transfers, the Manager, Operations - Transfers is responsible for leading and overseeing transfer-related processes for our CU Wealth and Qtrade lines of business. This role ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of transfer activities while driving operational excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement at scale.

What your day looks like:

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of Transfer Supervisors, overseeing day-to-day transfer operations
  • Establish performance expectations, KPIs, and SLAs related to transfer volumes, and error rates. This includes analyzing trends and root causes to rejections, delays, and customer complaints
  • Manage capacity planning and workload distribution to meet volume fluctuations
  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning for the transfer team.
  • Responsible for partner-facing reporting on account transfers
  • Ensure appropriate management of the shared Transfers inbox(es) so that accurate and timely responses are provided to business partners in a professional and service-first manner.  This includes leading the development of a process or system to identify and track the advisor/partner queries
  • Assist with the planning and execution of corporate and department level projects or initiatives, as assigned by the Director, Operations – Transfers
  • Identify and drive process optimization and scalability improvements

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce, Business Management or a related field is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Operations, the Mutual Fund or Brokerage industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role 
  • Strong people leadership and talent management skills, including attracting and hiring talent, engagement with staff and a focus on individual and team development
  • Keen business acumen, business judgement and problem-solving skills in order to serve as a trusted advisor
  • Ability to work independently to achieve required objectives, within Company and regulatory requirements
  • Self-motivated, results orientated with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven decision-making, prioritizing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management and staff
  • Proven experience in leading teams through change and operational growth
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $93,000 - $113,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
