Position Summary: The Manager of Talent Data Systems is responsible for two critical priorities at Mastery: 1) supporting the Assistant Director, Talent Data Systems and Analytics in fully leveraging Mastery’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and other talent data systems and 2) ensuring newly hired school staff have appropriate certification, license, and/or Highly Qualified (HQ) status, as required for their respective roles. This is a hands-on role that is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving functional excellence and process improvement. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Essential Job Functions: 
  • Perform audits and routine checks to ensure data integrity in Workday, including compensation grades/profiles, positions, supervisory organization structures, personnel information, etc.
  • Provide timely and accurate data analysis for state, local, and federal annual reports, charter renewal applications, and Mastery initiatives, as well as perform root cause analysis for gaps identified.
  • Support managers, Assistant Principals of Operations (APOs), and employees navigate Workday; create new documentation to help with new or changing processes.
  • Conduct intake meetings with new hires to explain their certification pathway and outline steps for obtaining emergency permits when needed.
  • Serve as the HR team’s point person for position management, ensuring that all gaps are identified, communicated, and resolved.
  • Serve as secondary HR subject matter expert in Workday business processes, including onboarding, separations, requests and job changes. Participate in business process discussions and help navigate/troubleshoot with key stakeholders (e.g. tech, recruitment, finance, etc).
  • Serve as primary administrator, analyzer, and distributor for staff-facing surveys, including Recommitment, NST Perception, Insight, New Hire, and end-of-year Exit surveys.
  • Assist with the annual employee offer letter renewal process, including project planning, liaising with key stakeholders, reviewing and auditing data, and executing the distribution process.
  • Support HR Talent Management processes, including sending offer letters/notifications for position changes/promotions.

  • Other Job Functions:
  • Act as secondary HR team point person for Workday consultants; manage Workday-related projects to ensure they are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Support off-boarding process, including severance documentation and unemployment claims.
  • Assist with New Employee Orientation 
  • Support Federal, State, and City compliance reporting requirements
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to assist the Human Resources Department.
  • Qualifications:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources policies and best practices
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office required, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong data compilation and analysis skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, drive results independently, and take ownership of complex projects
  • Superior customer service, communication (both written and verbal), analytical, and organizational skills required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team setting
  • Education and Experience:
  • HSD/GED plus at minimum four (4) years of relevant, full-time, progressively more responsible experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus at minimum two (2) years of experience, required
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in data management and reporting (New Jersey experience a plus)
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in a K-12 schools is highly desirable (New Jersey experience a plus)
  • Experience with school information systems is highly desirable 
  • Other requirements:
  • Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as outlined above, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as traveling to network campuses, monitoring and interacting with students, in-person facilitation of trainings, etc.;
  • This role may require frequent travel between multiple locations. Reliable transportation is essential to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Salary and Bonus Information:
  • The Manager of Talent Data Systems at Mastery can expect a starting salary between $61,000-$75,250 based on education and experience, with opportunities for growth as your career progresses.
