Position Summary:
The Manager of Leave and Accommodation Services is responsible for managing all aspects of employee leave administration, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation claims. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, supports employees throughout the leave and accommodation process, and works collaboratively with HR and departmental leaders to implement consistent, supportive policies. The MLAS will play a critical role in enhancing our organizational commitment to employee well-being, accessibility, and compliance with applicable laws.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Manage the administration of all employee leaves (FMLA, state-specific, short-term and long-term disability, and parental leave), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies
Support the development and implementation of leave policies and processes; provide guidance to HR and managers on leave-related matters
Manage ADA accommodation requests by conducting interactive processes with employees and managers to identify reasonable accommodations
Ensure timely and compliant handling of ADA cases, fostering an inclusive and accessible work environment.
Oversee workers' compensation claims, working with third-party administrators, legal counsel, and state agencies to ensure fair, compliant resolution
Use data insights to identify trends and recommend improvements to leave and accommodation policies, processes, and risk management strategies
Administer return-to-work programs and implement best practices for workplace injury risk reduction
Track and maintain accurate records for all leave, ADA, and workers' compensation cases
Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations across all programs
Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure seamless employee support
Stay updated on relevant laws and best practices to guide policy development
Partner with HR leadership to assess and recommend policy updates based on legal changes and organizational needs

Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of experience in leave administration, ADA compliance, workers' compensation, or related fields
In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation laws, and relevant regulations.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience in HRIS and leave management software.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar HR certification preferred.
Physical/Environmental:
Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role as outlined above, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as traveling to network campuses, monitoring and interacting with students, in-person facilitation of trainings, etc.;
This role may require frequent travel between multiple locations. Reliable transportation is essential to fulfill job responsibilities.
