Manager – Mental Health Services

• Based at our Narre Warren office (WFH 1 day/wk) on the lands of the Wurundjeri & Boon Wurrung Peoples + some travel within the SE suburbs required.
• $125,000pa + 12% super + generous salary packaging benefits of up to $18,550

About the program
Our Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) team supports people to live well by delivering community-based mental health services that are person-centred, connected, and grounded in evidence. We work alongside individuals, families, and partner organisations to create safer, healthier, and more inclusive communities.

Your role, your impact
As the Manager of Mental Health Services, you will lead a dedicated team delivering psychosocial and community mental health supports across our catchment. Your leadership will directly influence the quality of care people receive, the wellbeing of your team, and the growth of services that respond to community needs.

You will shape a culture where people feel supported, valued, and empowered. You will also play a key role in strengthening partnerships, improving service integration, and ensuring our programs continue to evolve in line with best practice and sector reform.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and inspire a motivated, positive, and high-performing team.
• Manage day-to-day service delivery to ensure operational excellence across all catchment areas.
• Build and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated service experiences for customers.
• Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and staff wellbeing in partnership with People & Culture.
• Drive geographical sustainability and market growth through planned service expansion.
• Implement evidence-based service models in collaboration with Service Design leaders.
• Ensure contractual, quality, and compliance requirements are met.
• Manage operational budgets, proactively mitigating financial risk.
• Lead risk management processes, including clinical governance and MARAM-aligned responses.
• Coordinate site operations, including safety, maintenance, inductions, and emergency preparedness.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

You will bring:

• Extensive leadership experience in a mental health program in a community setting.
• Experience leading teams delivering psychosocial supports.
• Strong understanding of mental health legislation, policy, and current sector trends.
• Experience partnering with clinical mental health services.
• Skills in managing budgets, contracts, and operational performance.
• Ability to collaborate with clients, families, colleagues, and external partners.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging stakeholders.
• Competence in dual diagnosis, community program management, and professional supervision.
• Experience in family violence or AOD service leadership.
• Experience managing consortiums or multi-agency partnerships.
• Understanding of the not-for-profit sector and community health environments.

• Degree qualification in a health-related field
