What you will do:  

The Manager II, Electrical I&C will play a critical role in supporting Electra’s operations by ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems across the facility. This role requires strong experience with DC systems and industrial electrical infrastructure, along with a proactive approach to safety and operational readiness. You will ensure safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems while leading a high-performing team in a dynamic, 24/7 industrial environment. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electricians and I&C technicians, cultivating a culture of safety, reliability, and operational excellence 
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of tank house DC rectifiers producing up to 160,000 amps, busbars, anodes/cathodes, electrolytic cells, automated cathode stripping machines, VFDs, MCCs, 4160V motors, and medium- and high-voltage distribution systems 
  • Direct configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PLCs, SCADA systems, and instrumentation supporting hydrometallurgical processes 
  • Conduct and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, complex shutdowns, and real-time troubleshooting under live production conditions to maximize uptime and safety 
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC/CEC codes, OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, arc-flash safety, and internal standards 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to integrate electrical systems into broader plant operations 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, provide strategic solutions to complex technical challenges, and support operational readiness for 24/7 production 
  • Assist in training junior technicians and contractors on safe electrical practices and procedures   
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor 

What we need you to bring to the team:    

  • Highschool Degree 
  •  5+ years of industrial electrical experience in mining, smelting, or refining operations, with extensive hands-on expertise in DC power, tank house rectifiers (up to 160,000 amps), high- and medium-voltage systems, VFDs, MCCs, motors, electrolytic cells, and automated stripping machines 
  • 3+ years in supervisory or leadership roles, managing large electrical maintenance teams and fostering talent development 
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale shutdowns, continuous operations, and urgent troubleshooting while maintaining safety and uptime 
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and arc-flash protocols 
  • Demonstrated excellence in team leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration, with a track record of improving operational performance 

What we want you to bring to the team:   

  • Master Electrician license preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role 
  • 10+ years of industrial electrical experience in mining, metallurgy, or chemical processing, including hands-on work with electrowinning and electrorefining operations 

 Compensation:   

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $115,000-$135,000 and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
