Role Summary
The Expansion & Vertical Marketing Manager owns and scales the global expansion marketing strategy and programs within the GTM organization. This role has end-to-end accountability for product-led expansion and vertical execution - driving attach, upsell, and cross-sell across our portfolio while helping to define how Sophos shows up in priority industries. You’ll design scalable, AI-enabled expansion programs rooted in real customer outcomes and aligned to GTM priorities to accelerate growth within the existing customer base.
What You Will Do
Develop scalable portfolio expansion & cross‑sell marketing frameworks
Translate product-led expansion strategy into scalable marketing programs across MDR, endpoint, firewall, cloud, and identity - driving attach, upsell, cross-sell, and portfolio adoption within the existing customer base.
Build repeatable execution frameworks that connect product value, customer maturity signals, and field GTM motion.
Build vertical marketing strategy for priority industries
Establish the vertical marketing strategy for priority industries using sales priorities, customer outcomes, and market signals to guide focus.
Translate industry context - buyer needs, regulatory pressure, threat landscape, and maturity- into clear use cases, narratives, and executable programs.
Build AI enabled, insight driven programs
Use performance data, customer signals, and AI assisted insight to inform where expansion and vertical programs should focus and how they evolve over time.
Design programs that scale efficiently through automation, intelligence, and clear activation guidance.
Translate strategy into execution that drives revenue
Package expansion and vertical strategies into clear plays, guidance, and activation frameworks that sales, partners, and field teams can easily adopt in market.
Define success metrics tied to expansion outcomes (e.g., attach rates, cross sell penetration, influenced pipeline), and continuously optimize based on results.
What You Will Bring
4–7+ years of experience in Customer Marketing, Growth Marketing, or Expansion Marketing.
Proven experience owning product‑led expansion motions, including attach, upsell, cross sell, or portfolio adoption across complex product environments.
Strong understanding of how to align marketing strategy to sales and customer success priorities.
An operational mindset, with the ability to design repeatable programs, clear plays, and scalable execution models.
Experience using data and AI assisted insight to guide program focus, prioritization, and optimization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex products and customer needs into clear expansion narratives.
Experience in cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, or a technical B2B environment is a plus.
In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $113,000 to $189,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
