LastPass is looking for an Engineering Manager:

In this role you will manage teams responsible for LastPass MFA service, including the passwordless login features serving millions of users. The team is now working on major improvements to our passwordless offering and migrating the service to the cloud.

Who will you work with?

  • Your cross functional agile team
  • Multiple other Engineering Managers, both in your own cluster (sharing a similar domain), and in other clusters.
  • The Product Manager of your team, making sure the team is working on delivering the most value to our customers.
  • The Scrum Master of the team, making sure the two of you are aligned how both the team and the individuals will improve on delivering value.
  • Architects, who support your team in major technical challenges.
  • UX team, delivering the best experience to our users.
  • You will also work with the support team, participate in the assessment and evaluation of incoming issues and their severity. You will also play a key role in supporting the team to fix the customer issues with speed and quality.

 What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

  • Manage a cross-functional, agile team, taking ownership of features
  • Ensure the team has the right competence to deliver the projects
  • Make sure all team members have proper goals, and that they receive continuous quality feedback
  • Manage delivery and expectations both regarding time and quality.
  • Own and facilitate any technical limitations/complexities/decisions and manage dependencies that impact the product requirements and delivery
  • Support the team in resolving their impediments
  • Guide and manage the team through challenging topics and priority shifts
  • Understand customer pain-points, advocate for delivering real customer value, attend on customer calls if required
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and mentor the developers within one or multiple teams
  • Write performance reviews and provide quality feedback regularly to help people grow
  • Support team members' career development
  • Foster a positive team environment in which people feel valued
  • Support relevant part of the development: design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance
  • Supervise and support multiple complex projects concurrently
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans
  • Participate in strategic planning and risk assessment
  • Coordinate activities with other managers, Architects, and PMs to help the team members accomplish business goals
  • Interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
  • Manage change inside your line organization
  • Conduct reasonable cost benefit analysis
  • Build strong internal culture aligned with the company culture

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Experience in software engineering/testing
  • Experience in enterprise level product development
  • Relevant hands-on experience as people manager/team leader role
  • Familiar of agile methodologies, able to sustain the application of agile principles in the team
  • Structured, but creative, finds ways to move the team forward towards execution excellence
  • Quality and customer obsessed
  • Experienced in an End-To-End thinking and taking responsibility beyond team boundaries
  • Devises and frequently revisits operational awareness in the team, including shared deployment responsibilities, monitoring, incident handling, failure mode analysis
  • Able to explain technically challenging details to stakeholders, partners and peers
  • Able to interact with customers, PMs, POs, stakeholders, senior leadership on all levels
  • Strong technical leadership with change management skills
  • Team-player and can-do attitude
  • Fluent in English

It's great, but not required:

  • Experience with any of these fields: cloud technologies, user authentication, MFA
