AI overview

Lead a data science and analytics team to transform insights from extensive data streams, crucial for strategic decision-making and operational improvements.

As a Manager of Data Science and Analytics at Vention…

As the Manager of Data Science and Analytics, you will lead and build a small but growing team responsible for transforming Vention’s rich data into insights that directly impact strategic decisions across the company. You’ll get your hands dirty applying data science techniques to solve high-impact problems in operations, growth, product, and customer experience - all while helping establish the data vision and infrastructure that scales with our business.

This is a unique opportunity for a strong leader and active contributor who thrives in a high-autonomy, high-impact role and is excited about growing the data function from the ground up. Today, you’ll manage one data analyst and work hands-on with engineering and business teams. Tomorrow, you’ll be scoping and leading an expanded team to meet the growing needs of the business.

This role is mission-critical to how we scale and compete. With access to a gold mine of high-value data, you’ll be instrumental in shaping strategy across the company. If you’re passionate about using data to solve real-world problems at the intersection of AI and advanced manufacturing, this is your opportunity.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing data team, while contributing directly to analytics and data science initiatives. Promote best practices in data management and modeling.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand critical data needs, define priorities, and ensure alignment between analytics initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Own the analytics roadmap and sprint planning processes. Balance quick wins with long-term capability building in line with evolving business needs.

Analytics & Insight Generation

  • Drive complex data modelling and advanced analytics initiatives (including statistical modelling, forecasting, and clustering) to identify trends, optimize performance and drive growth.
  • Lead the development of data visualization strategies, dashboards, and KPIs that deliver actionable insights and drive strategic business decisions.
  • Translate complex analytics into actionable recommendations for executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Data Infrastructure & Governance

  • Own the development, reliability, and scalability of the company’s data infrastructure, including the data warehouse, ETL/ELT pipelines, and source system integrations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency while adhering to compliance and governance standards.
  • Maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and analytics methodologies.

What You Bring to the Table

We’re looking for skills, intellect, and experiences that will help you succeed in this role but we also know that various profiles (not only the one described below) could be successful. If you’re excited about what you read and think you’d be a great fit, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet every single qualification.

You’ll bring:

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in data science or analytics, with proven leadership and project-management capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and modeling techniques (e.g., Snowflake, Airbyte, AWS).
  • Deep understanding of statistical methods and machine learning (e.g., regression, clustering, decision trees, neural networks).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate complex insights into business impact.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset.
  • A curiosity to learn, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to contribute to something meaningful
