  • Design gatherings—from intimate sessions to large-scale convenings—that foster authentic connection, community learning, and shared purpose.
  • Project lead and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences that balance creativity, strategy, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure every event upholds AMA’s standards of inclusion, accessibility, and fiscal responsibility.

Community Engagement & Volunteer Collaboration

  • Facilitate advisory groups and planning committees, creating purposeful collaboration that advances AMA’s mission and reinforces the value of belonging.
  • Extend engagement beyond live events through digital activations, community discussions, and follow-up experiences that sustain connection.
  • Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles into every stage of planning and execution, ensuring AMA events reflect and serve the diversity of the marketing community.

What you bring to the table

  • 5+ years of program design, content development, and speaker curation, with a track record of delivering high-quality, relevant, and inclusive agendas that apply principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

  • 3+ years leading event strategy and execution, including ownership of multi-day conferences or similarly complex, high-impact programs.
  • Experience evolving or launching new programs based on audience insights, strategic priorities, or emerging needs.

What you may also have

  • Experience in a nonprofit, association, higher education, or mission-driven environment, especially with membership or volunteer-led communities.
  • Background in marketing, communications, community engagement, or audience strategy.
  • Experience working effectively in a remote or hybrid setting, with strong self-management and digital collaboration skills.
  • Experience designing events, programs, or engagement opportunities specifically for executive- or senior-level audiences.
