About Juniper Square

Our mission is to unlock the full potential of private markets. Privately owned assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital make up half of our financial ecosystem yet remain inaccessible to most people. We are digitizing these markets, and as a result, bringing efficiency, transparency, and access to one of the most productive corners of our financial ecosystem. If you care about making the world a better place by making markets work better through technology – all while contributing as a member of a values-driven organization – we want to hear from you.

Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. We invest heavily in digital-first operations, allowing our teams to collaborate effectively across 27 U.S. states, 2 Canadian Provinces, India, Luxembourg, and England. We also have physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.

About your role

Juniper Square is looking for an experienced Manager, Analytics Engineer to lead the technical development of our data offerings in India. This is a critical hands-on leadership role: you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of Analytics Engineers while continuing to individually contribute to the data model before the team reaches scale.

You will act as the technical anchor and operational leader for our India-based Analytics Engineering team. You will partner closely with the North America-based management team to align on strategy, ensuring that the technical execution matches client business requirements. Beyond shipping code, you will be responsible for establishing best practices, mentoring your direct reports, and designing an organizational setup for efficient scaling.

What you’ll do

People Leadership & Operational Excellence:

  • Forecast headcount needs and lead the hiring process to recruit top-tier Analytics Engineers, building a diverse and high-performing team in India.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for career progression for your direct reports; provide active mentorship and feedback to ensure team members feel engaged and motivated.

  • Design and manage workflows that support efficient scaling. Identify opportunities to evolve how we operate, defining metrics to track operational performance and driving innovation across our internal processes.

  • Serve as the representative for the India technical team in cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with leadership to remove obstacles and drive results.

Technical Execution (Individual Contribution):

  • Actively contribute to the backend data model (LookML) and frontend visualizations to support our best-in-class intelligence product.

  • Formulate complex SQL queries and oversee the code quality of the team; ensure data integrity and system performance by rigorously testing new builds before they reach the client.

  • Collaborate with Data Product Services Managers to digest customer requirements and convert them into technical specifications for your team to execute.

  • Build deep expertise in Juniper Square’s proprietary software and the "Insights" data model, maintaining a strong focus on delivery and execution.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in a data-focused role (e.g., Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, Data Analyst, or Data Scientist).

  • 2+ years of people management experience, with a demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, and manage technical teams.

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL is required. You must be able to not only write complex queries but also mentor others on performance tuning and data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema). Bonus for experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and/or automation.

  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one enterprise BI platform (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and modern cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift). Experience with Looker/LookML is highly preferred.

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and write code, debug issues, and build dashboards alongside your team.

  • Proven ability to manage priorities, assign resources, and track metrics/KPIs to ensure the team delivers results on daily, weekly, and monthly timeframes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to articulate complex technical concepts to internal non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with remote teams in North America.

  • Industry experience in Private Markets (Real Estate, PE/VC), Finance, or Fund Administration would be a plus.
