YOUR ROLE:

The Manager, Analytics Enablement supports the collection and activation of analytics data across RAPP client projects, providing technical solutions to fulfill measurement and reporting goals.  This person will architect, document, implement, and maintain tracking architecture, tag management, conventions, and taxonomies, and martech platforms including analytics and digital media.  Additionally, the Manager will act as a resident expert on the collection of accurate data through experience in a variety of platforms including ESPs, digital media, web analytics, and tag management systems.  At RAPP, Analytics Enablement exists at the intersection between analytics and technology, as a division of the RAPP Marketing Sciences Center of Excellence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead discovery and assessment of client marketing, analytics, and data ecosystems, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve data reliability and analytical maturity
  • Manage and mentor a team of Analytics Engineers, providing technical guidance, code review, career development support, and performance feedback
  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders in Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Client Services to translate business objectives into scalable analytics solutions and roadmaps
  • Own and guide requirements for data pipelines, data infrastructure, and analytics tooling to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure data collection, transformation, and delivery
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of analytics data models and semantic layers that support reporting, self-service analytics, and advanced analysis
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality foundational analytics assets, including dashboards, reporting frameworks, and self-service data products that enable data-driven decision-making
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, testing, documentation, and governance; proactively identify and resolve data integrity issues
  • Act as a technical and strategic advisor to internal teams and clients, helping shape measurement strategies, analytics standards, and long-term data vision

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, analytics, data engineering, or a related technical analytics role, with 2+ years in a leadership or senior IC capacity
    • Strong understanding of modern analytics engineering principles, including:
    • ETL / ELT pipelines
    • Staging and transformation layers
    • Incremental loading patterns
    • Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD)
    • Data quality checks and testing
    • Business logic abstraction and semantic modeling
  • Advanced SQL expertise, with experience designing performant, maintainable transformations and data models across platforms such as Redshift, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with JavaScript and scripting tools for automation, data processing, and workflow orchestration
  • Experience working in collaborative, version-controlled environments using Git, including code reviews and CI/CD best practices
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), and an understanding of cloud-based analytics architectures
  • Strong knowledge of marketing and digital analytics concepts, including impressions, clicks, sessions, users, conversions, and attribution methodologies
  • Innovative Problem-Solving & Commitment: Ability to solve complex measurement and business challenges through creativity, while maintaining a commitment to self-driven continuing education to remain current on techniques, vendors, and the wider marketing landscape
  • Presentation & Public Speaking: Ability to produce client-ready written documents and presentation decks along with strong public speaking skills to facilitate positive in-person client meetings
  • Personal Traits: Ability to execute inspiring work with minimal supervision; passionate about problem solving in the areas of marketing, data, analytics, and technology; excellent verbal and written communication skills

RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.

This range is specific to Chicago and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
