JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

The Manager of Accounts Payable will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all company invoices and employee reimbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position plays a pivotal role in the accounting department and must be organized, results driven, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the set-up of new vendors in accordance with company policy
  • Responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, processing, and payment approvals to ensure vendors are paid timely and accurately
  • Owns the employee reimbursement function for the company with a mindset to improve upon outdated or sub-par processes
  • Continually assesses team workload and manages performance based on identified metrics
  • Reviews monthly account fluctuations for anomalous swings and variance to budget amounts
  • Reviews month-end and quarter-end variance analysis
  • Prepares and reviews general accounting analyses and schedules provided to external auditors
  • Mentor and grow the Accounts Payable team.
  • Supports internal control environment by proposing and enforcing control activities
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of 1099 forms to ensure compliance with IRS regulations
  • Contributes to strategic planning as it relates to budgeting and forecasting
  • Live and exemplify TOI core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members.
  • Other duties as assigned in response to changing business conditions and requirements

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience managing a team to process high number of invoices
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent accounting and operational skills with a strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish strong partnerships with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environment, strong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to identify and implement process improvement capabilities
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and create streamlined processes for the team
  • Experience managing in office and remote employees

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related business degree
  • Five or more years of progressive accounts payable experience. Must have prior team management experience
  • Experience with Concur, Sage Intacct

PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.
