About the role

As the Manager Accounting & Reporting at Assuria, you will be responsible for ensuring timely, reliable, and compliant financial reporting for the organization and its subsidiaries. You will lead a team of dedicated professionals and oversee the efficient setup and continuous improvement of all accounting processes within one of Suriname’s leading financial institutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead Assuria’s accounting team and manage daily financial operations

  • Prepare timely and reliable (consolidated) monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Take responsibility for preparing the statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including IFRS 17

  • Analyze financial data and provide insightful management reports to senior leadership

  • Coordinate and execute internal controls and technical accounting alignments

  • Optimize accounting processes and implement automation and efficiency improvements

  • Ensure compliance with The Central Bank of Suriname and international accounting standards (in collaboration with Compliance and internal/external auditors)

  • Prepare and guide internal and external audit processes

  • Maintain professional relationships and conduct technical discussions with external auditors

  • Support subsidiaries with financial and accounting matters

  • Drive performance management within your team through planning, appraisals, and development reviews

Requirements

  • A completed RA/CPA qualification or equivalent academic degree

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in accounting and reporting

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, preferabel IFRS 17

  • Experience with consolidations in a group structure

  • Familiarity with hyperinflation accounting and tax regulations

  • Proven experience with group audits and coordination with external auditors

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and motivate a finance team

  • A hands-on mentality combined with strategic insight

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-driven mindset
