Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Monthly management reporting:
- Prepare monthly management accounts for all 12 clubs (11 individual entities) including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Consolidate results across multiple entities for group-level reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany loan accounts and director loans
- Provide commentary on key movements, trends, risks, and opportunities.
2. Revenue & membership analysis:
- Review weekly membership income reports prepared by junior accountant
- Support the development of revenue forecasting models for existing clubs and new sites.
3. Expense management & payroll support:
- Review payables and ensure accurate allocation by club and by GL category.
- Review fortnightly payroll reports prepared by external payroll provider (Employment Hero) and the junior accountant
4. Cash flow management:
- Review weekly payables schedules prepared by junior accountant
- Maintain accurate and timely rolling cash-flow forecasts for each club and consolidated group – including ATO and loan repayments
5. Budgeting & forecasting:
- Assist in preparing annual budgets for each club and the group
- Track actuals vs budget throughout the financial year and assist with quarterly or six-monthly reforecasts
6. Systems, processes & controls:
- Oversee integrity of MYOB and Excel-based reporting systems.
- Develop templates, workflows, and automation across spreadsheets, dashboards, and reporting packs to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist external accountants (Affinity Accountants) with year-end financials and tax filings, ensuring clean and audit-ready files.
Requirements
Experience & qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or similar
- 2 - 5 years' experience in management accounting, ideally in multi-site, retail, hospitality, fitness or franchise environments. (can also consider other industries)
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience with MYOB or comparable systems.
- Experience in payroll, budgeting, and monthly reporting cycles, including multi-entity environments.
