Key Purpose of Role
The Management Accountant is responsible for all accounting functions, including the establishment and maintenance of controls on all inputs of a financial nature in relation to the Sales Entities. The jobholder will provide professional advice and service on financial matters to Sales Managers and Firstlight Foods Management Team.
As a member of the Finance team, the jobholder is required to participate in the overall management function of the department, under the guidance of the Group Sales Manager. Such participation is expected to go beyond specific job responsibilities and requires a constructive contribution to all matters addressed by the group.
The jobholder will work to achieve Quality Customer Service in line with the Function objectives and will ensure that all legal and statutory requirements as well as company policy and procedures are always adhered to. The jobholder will at all times look for opportunities to improve business processes for those areas under their control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver accurate, meaningful, relevant and timely financial information
Expected Outcomes:
- Measure performance against the businesses Five Year Plan, including analysis of revenue and selling costs
- Co-ordinate the preparation of the annual sales budget
- Prepare Sales management reports and financial forecasts
- Analyse and interpret financial information to support management decision-making
- Co-ordinate the preparation of the Sales monthly reports and Board Reporting information, ensuring timely and accurate feedback on financial and operational performance
- Implement and integrate all accounting and reporting policies
* Performance Improvement

- Identify areas for improving profit
- Identify both short and long term opportunities for the development of financial accounting systems, consistent with the strategic objectives of the Company
- Continually review resource utilisation, technology and current methods and procedures to identify and implement efficiency improvements within the function

- Undertake projects, both complex and routine, as required within or across the business
- The company is undertaking a review of its IT/Accounting systems. The role will be an important part of the team to investigate, recommend and implement the required changes to the systems used by the company.

- Ensure that the roles of all staff support the achievement of the stated business objectives and that these roles are clearly defined and communicated

Person Specification
Qualification
- Education – tertiary qualification in accounting or the accounting related arena, preferably CPA.
Experience
- Experience – from 5 + years of accounting experience, preferably management accounting experience in FMCG/CPG.
Skills/Competencies

- numerical literacy and analysis skills;
- communication and interpersonal skills;
- flexibility and creativity;
- Use of accounting systems. NetSuite is currently being used by the company, and experience with the system is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work with new technology and demonstrate proficiency with computer programs, especially spreadsheets.

- Confidence, e.g. to be able to challenge senior managers.
- Leadership skills.
