We’re looking for a dynamic and proactive Management Accountant to join us on a full time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be assisting in all aspects of the day-to-day finance operation and helping to build out the finance function in line with the company’s ambitious strategy and growth plans. This role will be based from our Glasgow office and we have a hybrid working model.

The Job

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Oversee daily bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, AR & AP
  • Play a central role in the month end close process and the production of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Payroll preparation, processing and reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of year end accounts, audit files, corporation tax returns and R&D tax claims
  • Act as first point of contact for finance queries and assume full responsibility of the accounting mailbox
  • Identify control and process gaps that will help the finance team scale alongside the business
  • Helping ensure the wider business complies with all financial related policies and procedures
  • Supporting the Finance Manager and Finance Director on ad hoc Finance projects

Requirements

The Person

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following:

  • Qualified accountant (CA/ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Industry experience and comfortable with all aspects of day-to-day and month end processes (e.g. reporting, AR, AP, payroll)
  • Proactive approach and ability to problem solve
  • Exposure to a start-up/scale up environment would be beneficial
  • Exposure to accounting software ideally Xero

The Logistics

We’re headquartered in the Onyx building on Bothwell St in Glasgow City Centre and have a hybrid working model to support a blend of in person and remote working. For this role, you would ideally be working a minimum of 2 days in the office each week.
