Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and room service outlets, ensuring that every service moment aligns with Belmond’s standards of excellence.
  • Welcome guests with professionalism and authenticity, anticipating needs and tailoring experiences that feel personal and genuine.
  • Guide, coach, and develop the service team, ensuring training, performance feedback, and a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Maintain full knowledge of menus, wine lists, pairings, and culinary philosophy to confidently support both guests and colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with the Restaurant Manager and Culinary leadership to maintain operational flow, optimal table allocation, and a consistently elevated ambiance.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations, while monitoring quality and consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Contribute to financial performance through thoughtful resource allocation, upselling, cost awareness, and ongoing monitoring of business results.
  • Handle guest enquiries, comments, and complaints with diplomacy, discretion, and a solutions-focused mindset.

Requirements

  • Previous experience (3–4 years) in a senior service role within a luxury or high-end restaurant environment, ideally internationally.
  • Fluent in Italian and English; proficiency in a third language (Spanish, French, or German) is preferred.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with proven experience training, guiding, and motivating a team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the emotional intelligence needed to navigate diverse guest and team interactions.
  • Sommelier certification and/or gastronomy studies preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning through courses, workshops, or other professional development.
  • Ability to manage pressure, multitask effectively, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • A global mindset, treating colleagues and guests with respect and inclusiveness.
