BASIC PURPOSE:
 
The SEWS - KCSC maintenance technician will perform preventative maintenance and/or repairs for all warehouse material handling equipment.  This will include but is not limited to checking and watering forklift batteries, tagging and scheduling forklift repairs, and coordinating and assisting outside contractors when needed.  The maintenance technician will perform monthly inspections of all fire/safety equipment, exit & emergency lighting, fire suppression system, electrical equipment and panels.  They will also perform general facility duties such as checking for damage/leaks, changing lights, minor alterations/fabrications, ordering material for general warehouse repairs, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.  
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Maintain and PM baler and pallet auger. 
  • Maintain, PM, and water pallet jacks, stock pickers, and forklifts
  • Assist with installations and repair of safety items such as guardrail, clean out drains, signage, etc.
  • Routine Fire Pump inspections/churns and fire extinguisher inspections
  • Replacement of warehouse equipment as needed (Battery Backups, PC's, cameras, troubleshooting, repack table equipment, etc.)
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Inspections and repair of 36 dock doors and associated equipment though out the building
  • Maintenance of pallet rollers and other material handling equipment
  • Roof inspections-patch as needed along with annual gutter cleanout.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2 year technical degree along with 1-3 years of maintenance experience required 
  • Knowledge of and experience servicing hydraulic equipment, electrical systems, and material handling equipment 
  • Ability to lift, bend, and otherwise meet physical requirements of the position 
  • Available to work overtime as scheduled (daily and Saturdays)
