Job Summary

Vital Materials seeks a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of critical plant equipment, focusing on sand blasting, plasma coating, and automated conveyor systems. Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Maintenance Operations
    • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on key equipment, including sand blasting, plasma coating, and automated conveyor systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve plant issues during non-scheduled hours or emergencies.
    • Utilize expertise in welding, machining, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems to address complex maintenance challenges.
  2. Preventive Maintenance
    • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
    • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent unexpected failures.
  3. Training and Development
    • Train operators and technicians on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
    • Provide technical guidance to enhance team performance and skill levels.
  4. Documentation and Compliance
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and system upgrades.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all maintenance activities.
    • Prepare reports and presentations using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  5. Emergency Response
    • Respond promptly to plant emergencies or equipment breakdowns, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on operations.

Qualifications, Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Professional certifications in welding, mechanical, electrical, or maintenance (e.g., Certified Maintenance Professional/Technician) are strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Proven experience in sand blasting, plasma coating, and automated conveyor systems.
  • Hands-on expertise in welding, machining, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and work order systems. 

Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer systems for reporting and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.

Working Conditions

  • Requires physical activity, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and working in various environmental conditions.
