To support that challenge, the Maintenance team is currently seeking an Electric Engineering Co-op in St. Gabriel, LA.  The co-op engineering student program is a continuous full-time position. This 30+ year program is open to Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering students who will get to work in the demanding world of chemical facility maintenance.

Estimated Duration:  September 2025 – August 2026 

You will: 

  • Perform equipment studies for reliability engineering 
  • Create sketches and part drawings for fabrication  
  • Develop testing and feasibility studies using fundamental engineering principles 
  • Scope and execute small capital projects 
  • Develop equipment repair procedures and check-sheets 
  • Assist Maintenance Engineers in daily work 

What you must have: 

  • Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program with a Junior class standing and good academic standing with the university 
  • Relevant core basic science/engineering classes through Sophomore level: (ie Physics, Chemistry, Fluids Mechanics, Statics, Strengths, Thermodynamics, etc.) 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Minimum GPA 2.5 overall/major
