Mainframe (COBOL) Developer
Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Employment Type: W2 Candidates Only (No C2C)

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to support a major modernization project transitioning from Mainframe to Java/AWS. This role is focused exclusively on mainframe engineering and microservices design; no Java development is required.

Requirements

• Core Skills: COBOL, IMS, DB2

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming

• In-depth knowledge of IMS and DB2 database systems

• Candidates with expertise in Mainframe Assembler Programming may also be considered

• Ability to contribute to the architecture and design of new microservices from a mainframe backend

• Experience with batch and real-time transaction processing on mainframe systems

Nice to Have

• Familiarity or working knowledge of cloud computing concepts

• Exposure to tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, and Jenkins

Project Overview

This is part of a long-term modernization effort to move legacy systems to a cloud-native microservices architecture. You will be working in tandem with modernization engineers to bridge mainframe functionality into the new Java/AWS environment.

Candidate Profile

• Must be local to Plano, TX or willing to relocate

• Only open to W2 candidates

• Must be able to work onsite 5 days a week
