Mainframe (COBOL) Developer
Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Employment Type: W2 Candidates Only (No C2C)
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to support a major modernization project transitioning from Mainframe to Java/AWS. This role is focused exclusively on mainframe engineering and microservices design; no Java development is required.
Core Skills: COBOL, IMS, DB2
Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming
In-depth knowledge of IMS and DB2 database systems
Candidates with expertise in Mainframe Assembler Programming may also be considered
Ability to contribute to the architecture and design of new microservices from a mainframe backend
Experience with batch and real-time transaction processing on mainframe systems
Familiarity or working knowledge of cloud computing concepts
Exposure to tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
This is part of a long-term modernization effort to move legacy systems to a cloud-native microservices architecture. You will be working in tandem with modernization engineers to bridge mainframe functionality into the new Java/AWS environment.
Must be local to Plano, TX or willing to relocate
Only open to W2 candidates
Must be able to work onsite 5 days a week
