The role

We're looking for a highly-skilled Software Engineer with a passion for building intelligent systems to join our team. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing and expanding the multilingual capabilities of our core, especially multimodal products. Experience with AI/ML/NLP is a plus, and a strong foundation in software engineering principles is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and implementing robust infrastructure
• Evaluate model, identify and collect losses, and improve the model
• Carry out data analysis to identify and understand shortcomings
• Help scaling deliveries and processes
• Proactively identify gaps and opportunities to increase multilingual quality
• Act as an expert for your native language

About you

In order to set you up for success as an Engineer in the Multilingual/Global Team  at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of software engineering
• Familiarity or strong interest in AI/ML/NLP, with a focus on multilingual and multimodal applications
  
  

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

• Experience in full-stack development is a plus.
• Background in statistics and in data or qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Own problems end-to-end and be passionate about maximizing AI technology impact 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and solution-oriented skills
• Ability to thrive and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Team player with exceptional interpersonal, solution-oriented and solid communication skills
• Ideally (near-)native knowledge in (a) non-English language(s)
