As an M&A Associate within our M&A Advisory Team, you will manage deal workstreams, ensure the quality and defensibility of all analytical and presentation materials, and translate strategic direction from senior team members into executable deliverables. You will serve as a key coordination point between Analysts, senior leadership, clients, and external advisors, providing oversight, quality control, and process management for multiple engagements. 

This role needs a combination of expertise in financial modeling and transaction analysis, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to deliver value to our clients and support the growth of our M&A practice.

 What you’ll do at SN: 

  • Design, review, and validate financial models and valuation analyses 
  • Manage Analysts’ work and provide coaching, feedback, and quality control 
  • Own internal timelines and deliverables for assigned workstreams 
  • Draft and refine CIM narratives and client-facing materials 
  • Participate in client calls, management meetings, and buyer interactions 
  • Coordinate with legal, accounting, and other advisors 
  • Ensure quality, coherence, and defensibility of all work product 
  • Identify issues, escalate as needed, and maintain engagement momentum 

Growth on the M&A team at SN: 

  • At SN, M&A Associates move beyond technical execution (Analyst level) to ownership of workstreams, quality control, and junior oversight. Over time, Associates develop judgment around presentation and engagement pacing, preparing them for consultant level responsibilities, where client leadership and decision-making expand. We are looking for candidates who are ambitious and eager to grow—those who want to take on increasing responsibility, develop their leadership skills, and progress within the M&A practice toward engagement leadership and broader client-facing roles. 

What it takes to be a M&A Associate: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field 
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in M&A advisory, investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation, corporate finance, public accounting (transaction-focused), or corporate development/financial strategy 
  • Demonstrated experience building and reviewing financial models and transaction analyses 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing materials 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Understanding of professional services business models, ideally within AEC 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail 
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to provide guidance to junior team members

Salary: The salary range for this position is an estimate of $90,000 - $100,000 with additional variable comp with an OTE of $150,000. A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual’s skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography.
