About the Role 

We are seeking an M&A Analyst with a strong foundation in finance who is excited to pair rigorous investment analysis with proactive deal origination. 

This role is execution-focused at its core, you will build financial models, evaluate investment theses, and support due diligence from start to finish. At the same time, you will play a key role in identifying and engaging vertical software founders, helping to build and expand Lighthouse’s acquisition pipeline. 

The ideal candidate enjoys analytical rigor but is equally motivated by building relationships and speaking directly with entrepreneurs. 

You will gain exposure to the full M&A lifecycle, from sourcing and initial outreach to diligence, investment committee presentation, and post-acquisition integration. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Investment Analysis & Execution 

  • Build detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and return frameworks 
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess risk and investment attractiveness 
  • Support financial, commercial, and operational due diligence 
  • Prepare investment memoranda and materials for Investment Committee 
  • Analyze recurring revenue quality, retention metrics, and profitability drivers 
  • Assist with post-acquisition transition planning and value creation initiatives 

Deal Origination & Founder Engagement 

  • Identify vertical market software companies aligned with Lighthouse’s acquisition criteria 
  • Conduct market mapping across niche software verticals 
  • Develop thoughtful outbound outreach strategies to engage founders and CEOs 
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with software entrepreneurs 
  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities against financial and strategic thresholds 
  • Maintain disciplined CRM tracking and pipeline reporting

Ideal Candidate Profile 

  • 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, growth equity, venture capital or a related role 
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills 
  • High intellectual curiosity and commercial judgment 
  • Comfortable speaking with senior executives and founders 
  • Interested in building relationships and proactively generating opportunities 
  • Organized and process-driven, with strong attention to detail 
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint 

Experience in software, SaaS, or recurring revenue businesses is a plus but not required.
