Logistics Coordinator

AI overview

Coordinate logistics and ensure operational excellence in sampling activities across regions, while supporting the Collections Laboratory team and maintaining compliance with ISO standards.

As the Logistics Coordinator, you’ll be the operational backbone of the Collections Laboratory team — ensuring everything runs smoothly from pre-season preparation through to post-harvest review. You’ll coordinate people, assets, and schedules to ensure samples are collected efficiently and safely, while maintaining our commitment to excellence and compliance.

Reporting to the Collections Manager, in this role you will work closely with the Training Manager to develop onboarding plans for field and support staff, ensuring the right number of people and resources are in place before the season begins. You’ll maintain registers for vehicles, phones, and consumables to ensure all assets are ready for use, and manage the registration process including GSR training, progress reporting, and system support.

During the main season, you’ll coordinate sampling rounds, rosters, and logistics across multiple regions, managing the daily allocation of work to collectors and runners and ensuring delivery targets are met. You’ll perform regular audits to ensure adherence to quality and Health & Safety standards, verify sampling accuracy, and make sure field teams have the right equipment and PPE at all times.

You’ll also oversee administrative functions such as sample reception and batching, handle customer and internal queries, and maintain essential mapping and documentation. Following the season, you’ll lead structured reviews to identify improvements and support various programmes including pest monitoring, bactericide auditing, and regional field initiatives.

Throughout all phases, you’ll ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards — including maintaining traceability, documentation, and chain of custody for all sampling activities.

You’re an organised, proactive coordinator who thrives on structure and communication. You bring a practical mindset, leadership ability, and a genuine passion for supporting teams in the field.

In this role you will bring:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience and a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and data management.
  • A commitment to Health & Safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ideally a good understanding of laboratory and field processes

Our client offers a supportive, down-to-earth culture, opportunities for growth, and the satisfaction of contributing to work that genuinely makes a difference across the horticultural sector.

Our client operates a seasonal business with high (main) season for five - six months whereby hours will be via seven day roster, so flexibility is a must.

If you’re ready to take on a pivotal coordination role and be part of a team that values precision, collaboration, and growth — we’d love to hear from you.
