Logistics and Waste Technician

$21 – $24 per hour

TLDR

The role combines clerical tasks and physical responsibilities related to logistics and waste management operations following strict compliance regulations.

The Logistics & Waste Technician performs both clerical and physical tasks related to the pick, check, and ship (PCS) system and waste management operations. This role is responsible for packaging and shipping products, samples, and other miscellaneous items in compliance with DOT/IATA regulations, as well as receiving and distributing all incoming goods.

The technician follows established procedures when performing routine, day‑to‑day tasks. For non‑routine or complex issues, the technician receives specific guidance from the Team Lead or Supervisor. Additionally, this role may provide direction and coordination to other team members involved in PCS activities.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily

  • Pick, check and ship products.
  • Assist with the inventory of finished products.
  • Ensure the finished products are placed in the proper storage location.
  • Document the location of the finished products in FileMaker system.
  • Verify that products pulled for shipping are accurately filled and include the correct certificate of analysis by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents.
  • Package and ship products correctly and according to applicable International Compliance and Federal Regulations including but not limited to ITAR, DOT and IATA.
  • Provide Customer Service with product and service information.
  • Receive and inspect incoming packages.
  • Ensure daily hazardous waste transfer from satellites to accumulation areas.
  • Operate Forklift as needed.
  • Maintain waste supplies.
  • Keeps the waste area clean and helps to ensure all documentation is current.
  • Assist in maintaining the eBinder functionality as needed.
  • Take a role in Incident/Spill Response Team.
  • Conscientiously learns requirements of the ISO 17034 & 17025 quality management system and diligently follows the terms of a quality contract, which describes the relevance and importance of the employee’s work to the achievement of LGC’s quality objectives.
  • Logistics & Waste Technicians may be expected to work in the Packaging department as needed under the supervision of trained packaging personnel.
  • Exemplify the LGC core values on a day-to-day basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Adherence to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates of Science degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of production experience is a plus, preferably in a chemical, medical, or environmental setting
  • Experience working in an ISO 17034 & 17025 facility
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
