Job Title: Hospital Dispensary Pharmacist

Start Date: ASAP 

Duration: 3 months 

Hourly Rate: Up to £30 per hour umbrella (or PAYE equivalent)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time

Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Dispensary Pharmacist to join a busy NHS hospital pharmacy service in Yorkshire. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and high‑quality dispensary services within a well‑established hospital setting. You will play a key role in clinical screening, accuracy checking, and supporting the wider pharmacy team to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality dispensary services.
• Conduct clinical screening and accuracy checking of prescriptions.
• Provide expert medicines information and advice to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Support and supervise pharmacy technicians and assistants within the dispensary.
• Ensure compliance with legal, professional, and organisational standards.
• Participate in audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold robust governance practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Previous NHS hospital dispensary experience (essential).
• Strong understanding of medicines legislation, dispensing processes, and clinical screening.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• A proactive, patient‑focused, and professional approach.
