Localization Manager
TLDR
Lead the development of AI-driven localization processes that enhance market expansion and improve customer trust while mentoring a dedicated localization team.
At AirHelp, we’re building digital products used by millions of air passengers globally. From flight compensation to premium subscription services, our growth depends on delivering a seamless, trusted experience in every market we operate.
Localization is a key growth lever for us. It enables faster market expansion, stronger product adoption, and higher customer trust.
We’re looking for a Localization Manager who wants to move beyond traditional translation management and build a modern, AI-driven localization function. This role is about ownership - designing scalable processes, introducing automation, improving quality through data, and enabling product and commercial teams to launch faster across 18+ languages. You will also lead a small team of 2 Localization Specialists.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building systems, working cross-functionally, experimenting with new technologies, and creating measurable business impact.
This role is based in our Gdańsk office. We work in a hybrid setup (2 days/week in the office)
Salary: 8000 - 11.000 PLN gross/month
What you’ll drive
- Design and continuously improve localization workflows leveraging AI, automation and modern TMS capabilities.
- Reduce manual operational work by introducing tooling, integrations and self-serve localization frameworks for internal teams.
- Manage localization initiatives across their full lifecycle - planning, budgeting, prioritization, execution and impact measurement.
- Ensure high quality, fast turnaround times and strong alignment with product releases and go-to-market initiatives.
- Define localization KPIs covering quality, cost efficiency, speed and user experience.
- Implement terminology governance, linguistic QA frameworks and performance dashboards.
- Own relationships with language service providers and localization technology vendors.
- Drive performance reviews, scope optimisation and innovation initiatives.
- Act as the localization expert and trusted partner for Product, Marketing, Legal and Customer Experience teams.
- Mentor 2 Localization Specialists and support their development.
- Introduce structured ways of working, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement practices.
What you’ll deliver in your first 12 months
- Understand current localization workflows, tooling, and vendor setup.
- Identify the biggest opportunities to improve turnaround time, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Product and Marketing.
- Introduce first AI-assisted localization initiatives, improving operational efficiency.
- Implement clear prioritisation frameworks and localisation planning cadence.
- Launch initial performance metrics and reporting dashboards.
- Scale AI-driven workflows significantly reducing manual effort and time to market.
- Enable faster launches of new product features and market expansions.
- Optimise vendor strategy leading to measurable cost efficiency gains.
- Develop a high-performing localization team with clear ownership areas.
- Create scalable terminology and content governance standards.
What sets you apart
- At least 3 years of experience leading the Localization Function in a scale-up company (preferred) or Localization Projects in an agency.
- You have experience working with TMS / CAT tools and localization workflows.
- You enjoy building and improving systems rather than just running processes.
- You are curious about AI and actively explore how automation can improve operational scale.
- You balance linguistic quality with business priorities and speed.
- You communicate clearly and influence stakeholders across functions.
- You take ownership and drive initiatives forward in a fast-moving environment.
