The Flavor Profile

The Local Activations & Partnerships Manager (LAP) is responsible for driving community engagement, developing high-impact partnerships, and executing local activations that increase attendance, brand visibility, and earned revenue for the Museum of Ice Cream. This role blends relationship-building, event execution, local marketing, and operational coordination with GMs, HQ Marketing, and HQ Ops.

You’ll be the local face of MOIC—building relationships with schools, community organizations, small businesses, influencers, and neighborhood partners to bring MOIC into the community and bring the community into MOIC.

Your Day-to-Day:

Partnership Development & Community Engagement

  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality local partners across schools, family-focused orgs, cultural institutions, local businesses, influencers, and community groups.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure cross-promotional and community partnerships that drive attendance, awareness, and revenue.
  • Maintain a thorough partnership tracker including deliverables, activation dates, goals, and performance.

Local Activations & Events

  • Plan and execute high-quality onsite and offsite activations that drive attendance, visibility, and local buzz.
  • Work cross-functionally with GMs, site teams, HQ Marketing, and HQ Ops to ensure activations meet brand, safety, and operational standards.
  • Own setup, staffing coordination, signage, costumes, scripts, QR codes, sampling, and post-event recaps.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Track partnership revenue attribution through discount codes, UTM links, and Tripleseat lead sources.
  • Measure reach, attendance, and visibility for all activations, including local OOH metrics and partner social media performance.
  • Deliver weekly dashboards and post-activation reports to the GM, Regional Ops Lead, and HQ partners.

Local Marketing Execution

  • Deploy a $5K monthly local budget to promote MOIC across high-impact touchpoints (sampling, tactical OOH, community events).
  • Collaborate with HQ Marketing on approval of local signage, collateral, and co-branded partner materials.
  • Ensure local OOH placements are aligned with brand, reach expectations, and campaign needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work daily with the GM and site team to integrate activations into the operational rhythm.

Partner with HQ Marketing for social integration, partner deliverables, and content sharing.

Coordinate with HQ Ops to align local partnerships with broader strategic initiatives.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 USD dependent on location and experience, plus commission, as well as an annual bonus and options.

Requirements

Must Haves

  • 2–4 years in partnerships, community engagement, field marketing, or sales.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Experience in event coordination or experiential marketing preferred.
  • Comfortable with KPI tracking, light data analysis, and reporting.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to thrive in fast-paced, playful environments.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Existing relationships with Boston hotels, DMCs, or tourism boards.
  • Previous experience building an ambassador/influencer program or grassroots campaign from scratch.
  • Background in selling birthday party packages, venue rentals, or team-building events.
  • Spanish fluency or multilingual skills.
  • Experience with opening a new venue or launching a market.
  • A passion for playful, immersive experiences and the joy of ice cream.
