Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case intake, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft, proof, and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
  • Organize and maintain case files (both electronic and hard copy) and ensure timely filing of court documents.
  • Conduct factual and legal research using court databases, public records, and online tools.
  • Manage discovery production, including document review, indexing, Bates labeling, and maintaining discovery logs.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and witness meetings.
  • Prepare exhibits, witness binders, and trial notebooks for hearings and trials.
  • Assist in managing deadlines and case calendars.
  • Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel professionally and promptly.
  • Provide trial and hearing support as needed, including travel to court or off-site locations.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department (specific practice area experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure and court filing rules (state and/or federal).
  • Proficiency with legal software and tools such as Clio, iManage, Relativity, CaseMap, TrialDirector, or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
