About This Role:

We are looking for a Linux/Web Systems Administrator (m/f/x) to join our DevOps team in Berlin, Germany

At Atolls, your role will be instrumental in helping us develop, maintain, and manage infrastructure used by other teams creating exceptional user experiences and empowering consumers to make informed and confident shopping decisions. As a key part of our team, you’ll be working under the Director of Infrastructure and be directly involved in building and enhancing the key systems that our staff use to build, deploy, and operate the platforms used by millions of savvy shoppers from all over the world.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Work with Linux and manage container-centric capacity and application orchestration platforms
  • Support the ongoing operations of existing projects, while architecting and deploying new projects and infrastructure
  • Coach hybrid development teams to accelerate our release pipelines and improve reliability of delivery solutions
  • Understand, avoid, and address points-of-failure in complex distributed applications
  • Ensure the availability, security and performance of business critical applications
  • Research and implement cost optimizations while providing a "best fit" solution for highly dynamic workloads

Your Profile:

We’re looking for someone with Linux Systems Administration experience, who is dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences and driving innovation.

Technical Skills:

  • You must be familiar with DevOps and SRE approaches
  • You are a Cloud Native application admin with experience running production workloads on major public cloud providers
  • You have extensive experience with various scripting languages
  • You have extensive experience managing Infrastructure as Code
  • You work with Linux, Containers, and container orchestration platforms daily
  • You are experienced with version control software (Git)
  • You are deeply familiar with Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, and routing
  • You'll need to know Monitoring Theory,  understanding how to collect feedback and observe large, distributed, remote applications
  • You must be experienced with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and versioned release software (Gitlab / Jenkins)

Soft Skills:

  • You are an innovator with strong opinions, quick problem-solving abilities, and a results-oriented attitude
  • You believe in solving problems; not treating symptoms
  • You are comfortable managing multi day/week projects from ideas to execution independently 
  • You are comfortable working both independently and with a team to accelerate project timelines
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You enjoy constructive discussions directly with key decision makers

Language requirements:

  • Advanced English language skills are essential
