Linux Development - R&D TorizonOS - Internship - 2026

Job Description

The intern will work at our TorizonOS Team in R&D. The team mission to which the intern will contribute to on a daily basis is to maximize the impact and elevate the experience for users developing and operating edge software for Torizon services with exceptional core software and tools. The intern will be responsible for helping the team engineers maintain our Debian packages and Debian package feed and Docker containers for the TorizonOS Embedded Linux distribution, in an agile and DevOps oriented environment, thus also learning about and using the Scrum Framework, Test Automation, and Continuous Integration/Delivery/Testing (CI/CD/CT), and writing user-oriented technical documentation. The intern will participate on all team meetings and activities, learning more about the maintenance and customization of an Embedded Linux distribution with the Yocto Project, cross development and debugging of applications with our VS Code IDE Extensions, OTA Updates concepts, Test Automation, DevOps best practices, cloud integration and edge computing. The internship is strongly technical and through the way, you will earn deep knowledge of Embedded Linux, enabling you to excel at developing embedded Linux products, applications, and systems.*

Topics that you will work on

• Embedded Linux development focused on reliability.
• Debian packaging to support specific hardware units (CPU, image processor, neural network inference accelerator, among others).
• Maintenance of Docker containers based on Debian and focused on Embedded Linux applications.
• Writing of automated tests.
• Maintenance of Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines.
• Writing of customer-oriented technical documentation
• Agile development by working on a team that adopts the Scrum Framework

Topics you will be presented to

• Industrial Embedded Linux systems.
• ARM microprocessors technical overview.
• Yocto Project/OpenEmbedded build system.

• How to use hardware peripherals (e.g. CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO,…).
• Basic concepts of UI/UX.## Desired Candidate Profile### Necessary Minimum Skills and Profile- Advanced English;
• Good communication skills in English;
• Basic programming skills in at least one of the following: C, C++, Python, JavaScript;

• Linux user
• Basic knowledge of what is an "embedded system";
