The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a maintenance worker for employment. Preferred candidates will have experience in maintenance service, parking operations, and housekeeping.
Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, be reliable, and have a self-motivated demeanor. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure garage & surface lots are maintained and cleaned as needed.
- Responsible for general maintenance of the garage & lots, wiping down equipment, and emptying trash.
- Work is both performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Provide information and directions to customers in garage and around facility.
- Light maintenance and cleaning, along with assisting during parking operations.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
- Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
- Must be able to make decisions independently
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
- Experience with general facility maintenance preferred.
Requirements
- Requires a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
