About the role
Better’s Lifecycle Marketing Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of high-quality email and SMS campaigns. This role is highly operational and hands-on—focused on building in Iterable, QA, launch readiness, testing setup, and performance pull/reporting. You’ll partner closely with Lifecycle leadership, plus cross-functional stakeholders (Design, Copy, Analytics, Legal/Compliance) to ensure campaigns are accurate, on-brand, and shipped on time.
This role is ideal for someone who loves clean execution, has strong technical email fundamentals (HTML/CSS + dynamic content), and takes pride in catching issues before they reach customers.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign build & production (Email/SMS)
· Build lifecycle campaigns in Iterable, including campaign setup, audience/segmentation selection, dynamic content blocks, and send scheduling.
· Build and edit responsive emails using HTML/CSS, and troubleshoot rendering issues across common devices/clients.
· Support campaign trafficking needs: UTMs, link setup, template updates, and basic workflow support as assigned.
Quality assurance (QA) & launch readiness
· Own campaign QA end-to-end: content accuracy, link validation, personalization/dynamic logic, segmentation checks, and formatting consistency.
· Use Litmus (or equivalent) to test rendering and fix or escalate issues quickly.
· Maintain a repeatable QA checklist and ensure campaigns meet internal standards before send.
Testing & experimentation
· Set up and execute A/B tests (subject line, preheader, CTA, layout, messaging) and ensure clean test design (clear hypothesis, audience splits, timing).
· Document test outcomes and share learnings with the team for iteration.
Reporting & performance pulls
· Pull campaign results and build lightweight performance summaries (deliverability, engagement, conversion where applicable).
· Monitor early performance after launch and flag anomalies (e.g., unexpected bounce/unsub, tracking issues, broken links).
Operational excellence & documentation
· Keep campaign documentation up to date for compliance/audit needs (audience, creative, launch date/time, approvals, UTMs).
· Manage tasks and timelines in Asana (or equivalent), proactively communicating status, risks, and dependencies.
Qualifications
· 2–3 years experience in CRM/lifecycle/email marketing execution (Iterable preferred; Braze/SFMC/Klaviyo also relevant).
· Strong HTML/CSS skills specifically for email (tables, responsive patterns, client quirks), plus comfort with dynamic/personalized content.
· Hands-on experience with QA, including rendering tools (Litmus preferred) and meticulous link/content validation.
· Experience setting up and interpreting A/B tests; understands basic experimentation best practices.
· Comfortable pulling results and speaking to core metrics (deliverability, open/click, unsub, basic conversion).
· Extremely organized, high attention to detail, reliable follow-through—ships on time with minimal oversight.
Nice to have
· Experience with Iterable features like dynamic content, catalogs, snippets, and basic workflows.
· Familiarity with UTM governance and common analytics tooling (GA, Looker/Tableau, etc.).
· Basic deliverability awareness (bounce types, spam complaints, list hygiene).
What success looks like (first 60–90 days)
· Independently builds and QA’s campaigns with minimal revisions.
· Launches consistently on time with near-zero errors.
· Improves team throughput by taking full ownership of production tasks and documentation.
· Contributes clear testing learnings and repeatable process improvements (QA checklists, build templates, reporting snapshots).
