The Clinical Assistant role is a mid-tier supervisory position that combines providing direct therapy services with acting as a licensed assistant behavior analyst for various  insurance-based school district funding sources. This is a unique hybrid role that allows BCBA candidates to accrue unrestricted fieldwork supervision hours while delivering direct therapy to assigned clients. The primary focus is young kiddos, or early intervention learners.

You will assist an assigned clinician with a defined caseload, providing critical support to the clinical team and contributing to the overall success of the agency. This position requires a positive, supportive attitude, independent thinking, excellent communication, and strong clinical critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities (Duties include, but are not limited to):

  • Clinical Service Delivery:
    • Provide direct therapy services as assigned clinic, school, and/or home settings.
    • Implement evidence-based ABA service delivery procedures (intake, therapy, assessment, parent training, staff training).
    • Work with clients varying in age from infant to young adult, demonstrating competence with a wide variety of behaviors, including aggression, self-injury, eloping, and property destruction.
    • Demonstrate effective de-escalation skills and the ability to independently support novel clients.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Independently use the clinical software system (CentralReach) for review of client progress and data-based modification of learning programs.
    • Accurate and timely documentation of all client service session notes.
    • Development and timely submission of client-specific treatment and behavior intervention plans to funding sources.
    • Adherence to billing standards and delivering 90% utilization of all authorized hours/codes monthly.
  • Professional Conduct:
    • Strictly adhere to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
    • Consistently demonstrate a high level of integrity, responsibility, accountability, and teamwork.

Requirements

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Have a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in ABA, Psychology, Education, or a related field and currently be enrolled in an accredited ABA Master’s Degree program seeking certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).(Must be actively seeking certification to continue in this role.)
    • Hold a current certification as a  licensed assistant behavior analyst in the state of Washington. 
    • Completion of at least three BACB certification courses with a verified course sequence from the Association of Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
    • Must be qualified under state, county, and payor requirements for your region on an ongoing basis. 
    • Completion of First Aid and CPR training within 30 days of hiring (Required).
    • Background and fingerprinting clearance (Required).

Pay Scale:

Direct Intervention: $28.00-$30.00/hour

Supervision: $35.00-$40.00/hour

Work Environment Highlights

The working environment involves working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities. This includes managing high-volume auditory sounds and behaviors such as aggression, eloping, self-injury, and property destruction. Services may require flexible scheduling, including rotating opening/closing shifts (clinic based), and driving to treatment sites (home, clinic, or community). Support activities may involve activities of daily living such as eating, toileting, and hygiene skill development.
