We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated legal professional to join our legal team, focused on regulatory affairs and compliance. In this role, you will play a key part in monitoring and analyzing legal and regulatory developments in the fintech and cryptocurrency sectors. You will also contribute to shaping internal and external policy initiatives and engage with relevant governmental and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with evolving legal frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Track and assess legal and regulatory changes relevant to fintech, cryptocurrencies and digital assets.
- Advise internal stakeholders on the implications of regulatory developments and compliance requirements.
- Participate in industry consultations and policy-making initiatives.
- Collaborate with government authorities and industry groups to advocate for sound regulatory practices.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance programs aligned with applicable laws.
- Write critical legal and regulatory pieces in newspapers and magazines especially popular among the startup community.
- Prepare and revise ad-hoc memoranda as may be required from time to time.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a lawyer either in the public or private sector;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the company; and
- Solid prior experience in line with the “Responsibilities” section above
