Legal Manager

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for managing a wide range of legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Overseeing aspects such as commercial contracts, project management, intellectual property, and compliance services, ensuring smooth business operations.
  • Acting as a strategic partner to deliver accurate and timely legal advice, supporting business decisions and growth initiatives.
  • Ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive contract database and track contract deadlines.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations.
  • Conduct internal audits and investigations to identify and address potential legal risks.
  • Manage data privacy and protection compliance.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to management and other departments on a variety of legal matters.
  • Managing and developing the legal team, including direct reports and junior members.
  • Identify and assess potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other legal service providers.
  • Oversee and control legal expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Law required English section is a MUST, with a Master of Law (LL.M) preferred.
  • 7+ years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in a team leader or manager role, preferably in technology, media, and telecom
  • Strong working knowledge of regulations in the Middle East, GCC, and North Africa, data privacy, intellectual property, and company registration, reflecting the company's operational scope is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, supporting communication across diverse regions.
  • Strong background to lead diverse teams across geographic locations, excellent negotiation and communication skills, high integrity, and business ethics, with overseas exposure essential for global operations.
  • Experience in corporate compliance, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, and anticipating contractual issues, aligning with the company's venture-building activities.
