This role offers the opportunity to shape and enhance authoritative US legal content by combining expert legal insight with advanced AI-enabled editorial tools. The Legal Editor will collaborate with external contributors, internal stakeholders, and product teams to ensure content accuracy, clarity, and relevance. You will track regulatory, legislative, and case-law developments, identify content gaps, and help deliver timely, actionable legal guidance to users. This position requires a strong mix of legal knowledge, editorial precision, and project management skills, with a focus on leveraging technology to streamline workflows and optimize content quality. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where innovation and continuous improvement are highly valued.
Accountabilities:
Recruit, onboard, and manage relationships with external authors, setting clear expectations for content scope, style, and delivery.
Track and analyze legislative, regulatory, and case-law developments to maintain up-to-date content and identify opportunities for new coverage.
Plan, manage, and oversee the delivery of content portfolios, balancing quality, speed, and cost considerations.
Review, edit, and enhance legal content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and cross-platform functionality.
Partner with Product Management and Content Strategy teams to align content with market needs and incorporate customer feedback.
Support marketing, sales, and customer success initiatives with subject-matter expertise and content guidance.
Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline editorial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance content quality.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
1–5 years of legal practice or comparable legal publishing experience, with strong familiarity with federal law and willingness to develop expertise in additional practice areas.
Proven editorial skills, including the ability to scope and edit complex legal analysis for clarity, consistency, and voice.
Comfortable using AI tools and large language models for legal research and content development, including prompt design and iterative evaluation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to interpret market feedback, analyze data, and inform content initiatives with a commercial mindset.
Adaptable, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
