We are looking for a mid-level Legal Counsel seeking new professional challenges in an international business environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong legal expertise with a pragmatic approach to enable commercial growth, manage risk, and support business teams in achieving strategic goals. Expectations and tasks:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of commercial agreements, including software development, SaaS, licensing, distribution, partnership, procurement, and service contracts;
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to sales and operations teams, providing clear, solution-oriented legal advice,
  • Driving contract negotiation strategy and ensuring alignment with the company’s commercial and risk objectives,
  • Advising on compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, AI regulation and data protection (GDPR) with a focus on business enablement rather than restriction,
  • Interpretation of contract requirements, obligations, and project risk management,
  • Verification of compliance with corporate guidelines and internal controls,
  • Search, analysis, and systematization of information from various sources,
  • Corporate document creation and assistance in corporate procedures (e.g., registration of corporate document amendments),
  • Managing relationships with external counsel and advisors to ensure cost-effective and business-focused legal support,
  • Providing training and guidance to commercial and operational teams on contract best practices and risk awareness.

Required skills, competencies, and education:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited law school is required,
  • Portuguese Bar Association Membership,
  • Excellent MS Office skills,
  • Experience working with various legal databases,
  • Confident theoretical and practical competence in the following areas: international, civil, contract, corporate, and labor law,
  • Effective and grammatically correct written and verbal communication and presentation skills both in Portuguese and English (at least an “upper-intermediate” level of English is required),
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate legal concepts into practical business advice,
  • Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes,
  • Solid understanding of B2B contracting, technology transactions, and service delivery models (SaaS, cloud, outsourcing),
  • Experience with contracts for large, complex IT projects or services is helpful,
  • Knowledge of other languages is useful,
  • Ability to process large amounts of information within short time limits,
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities,
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently and work well in groups,
  • Self-discipline, attention to details, capacity to study, responsibility,
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with business leaders and influence commercial outcomes.

Work experience:

  • Proven track record of consistent high performance,
  • At least 4 years of relevant legal experience in commercial contracting, corporate law, or technology transactions,
  • Prior experience in a multinational, technology, or service-driven organization is strongly preferred.
