At Go1, our Legal team isn’t hidden in a corner reviewing contracts all day — we’re embedded in the heart of the business. As our next Legal Counsel, you’ll partner with teams across Sales, Partnerships, People Ops, Finance, Product, and InfoSec to keep Go1 moving fast and staying safe. You’ll work closely with our General Counsel, jump into meaningful commercial work, and help shape the legal operations of a high-growth global company. This is a 12-month parental leave contract, and it’s perfect for someone who loves variety, ownership, and being the person people rely on for clarity and good judgment.

Here’s a Taste of What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing practical, fast legal advice that helps teams get things done without unnecessary blockers.
  • Owning Lexion workflows — reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts that align with Go1’s standards.
  • Negotiating and amending licensing agreements, DPAs, supplier agreements, and partner contracts.
  • Advising on global data privacy laws and supporting privacy-by-design within our product and engineering teams.
  • Building strong partnerships across Sales, Finance, People, Product and InfoSec.
  • Helping Go1 stay compliant with privacy, security and regulatory obligations across markets.
  • Creating training, playbooks, and educational resources to make legal simple and accessible.
  • Reducing dependence on external counsel by tackling more work internally.
  • Improving legal processes and helping build scalable, efficient systems that support Go1’s next stage of growth. 

You will have: 

  • 5–8 PQE, admitted to practice in Australia (US/UK qualified also welcome).
  • Experience in a technology or SaaS environment—either in-house or private practice (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills + a sharp commercial mindset.
  • Confident communicator who can translate “legal” into plain language for teams across the globe.
  • Relationship-builder who enjoys collaborating with Sales, Product, and technical teams.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast, high-growth environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach—someone who sees Legal as an enabler, not a blocker.
  • A team player with a positive, “hands-on” energy who values learning, impact and supporting others.
