Job Description Purple Land Management (PLM) is seeking a Lease Buyer with experience in South Texas, specifically near Dimmit County. The ideal candidate excels in a structured, team-oriented environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include identifying leasehold opportunities, negotiating and acquiring oil and gas leases, and maintaining detailed records of lease terms and landowner communications. The role requires a solid understanding of surface and mineral ownership, local landowner dynamics, and the legal instruments used in oil and gas leasing. Familiarity with the unique leasing challenges in South Texas is essential to supporting our clients’ acquisition strategies and helping ensure the success of their exploration and development programs. Responsibilities
  • Identify and contact mineral and surface owners in Dimmit County, TX, to negotiate and acquire oil and gas leases in accordance with client objectives and applicable regulations
  • Review county records, title documents, and online databases to confirm ownership interests, lease status, and curative requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of lease negotiations, ownership verification, and executed agreements for submission to clients and internal teams
  • Collaborate with land, legal, and title teams to resolve title issues and ensure lease agreements align with operational timelines and acreage requirements
  • Manage multiple leasing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Perform additional land-related duties as assigned by management in response to business needs
  • Mandatory Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience acquiring oil and gas leases, with at least 1 year of direct leasing experience in South Texas
  • Proven ability to negotiate lease terms with mineral and surface owners professionally and effectively
  • Strong understanding of surface, mineral, and leasehold ownership, and familiarity with title verification processes
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with landowners, clients, and internal teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and digital document management systems
  • Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Juris Doctorate
