Job Overview:
We are seeking a Lead UI/UX Designer to oversee the design and user experience of the Moneybase platform across web and native mobile applications. This role combines hands-on design expertise with leadership responsibilities driving visual consistency, user‑centred design practices, and design system development across all customer touchpoints. The Lead UI/UX Designer will work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and key stakeholders to create intuitive, engaging, and visually cohesive experiences for our users.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead the design direction for Moneybase, ensuring user experience excellence across all platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Tech, and Marketing to align visual and UX direction with business objectives.
• Provide mentorship and creative guidance to any internal or external designers supporting ongoing projects.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and design thinking across teams.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity mock-ups to visualise concepts and guide development.
• Define and maintain design systems, pattern libraries, and UI guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Translate user needs, product requirements, and complex fintech flows into intuitive user interfaces.
• Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to validate and improve designs.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure high-quality design implementation.
• Conduct user research and analyse feedback, data, and usability metrics to inform design decisions.
• Partner with Product Managers to prioritise improvements and ensure a data-driven design approach.
• Advocate for accessibility, clarity, and simplicity in all product experiences.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with priorities.
• Communicate design rationale and concepts effectively to stakeholders across the business.
• Participate in weekly sprint planning and actively collaborate within Agile environments (JIRA/Trello proficiency required).
• Prepare weekly design progress reports for Product Managers, stakeholders, and project owners.
• Contribute to roadmap discussions and ensure design considerations are integrated early in product planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design, including at least 3–5 years in the fintech industry. Prior experience in a senior or lead design role is strongly preferred.
• Expert proficiency in Figma (required). Experience with other tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar is considered a plus.
• Strong understanding of user‑centred design principles, usability, and accessibility standards.
• Experience building or maintaining design systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions.
• Up to date with current design trends, technologies, and usability best practices.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with financial products, payments, or investment platforms.
• Familiarity with data visualisation and interactive dashboards.
• Knowledge of front‑end capabilities (HTML/CSS/JS) to facilitate collaboration with developers.
• Strong analytical mindset, combining creativity with structured problem‑solving.
