Who You Are
As a Lead Tableau Developer, you are recognized for your mastery in SQL and Tableau, with an ability to turn complex data sets into clear, actionable insights. You are a data enthusiast and a complex problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment, delivering both tactical solutions and long-term strategic planning. You possess a keen eye for detail and a knack for visualizing data in ways that are both insightful and accessible to stakeholders like Senior Leadership Team, finance, affiliates team, marketing, support at all levels. Your advanced analytical and technical skills are matched by your exceptional ability to communicate. You have the ability to efficiently develop and deliver high-quality Tableau dashboards with little oversight.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Tableau Development: Lead the design, development, and delivery of Tableau dashboards that provide meaningful, real-time insights to stakeholders. You’ll take ownership of the entire Tableau development lifecycle—from setting up data sources (including published data sources, custom SQL, and Snowflake connections) to creating high-performing, visually compelling dashboards. You’ll also guide and mentor junior developers, set best practices for dashboard design and data governance, and ensure consistency and quality across the team’s deliverables. Work closely with Data Engineering and BI Architecture teams to make sure data models are efficient and optimized for analytics
- Advanced Data Analysis: Drive the BI vision by identifying new opportunities for analytics and dashboard automation that align with business goals. Use your advanced SQL and analytical skills to solve complex data challenges, uncover insights, and turn data into actionable recommendations. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate broad business problems into structured, data-driven dashboards. You’ll also help build standardized, reusable data sources and automation processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary Tableau subject matter expert and go-to partner for key business stakeholders. Lead discussions to gather requirements, understand goals, and translate needs into clear BI solutions. Communicate insights and technical details in a simple, meaningful way to both technical and non-technical audiences. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Leadership teams to ensure metrics and KPIs are consistent and aligned across the organization.
- Team Enablement and Governance: Champion BI best practices by creating and maintaining development standards, documentation, and dashboard governance processes. Build a strong data culture by organizing enablement sessions, supporting data literacy efforts, and helping teams use Tableau more effectively. Ensure dashboards are maintained, certified, and performance-optimized.

Experience/Education/Certifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 7+ years of Tableau experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity guiding BI or visualization projects.
- Proven success building and optimizing complex Tableau dashboards that tell clear, actionable stories.
- Expert-level SQL skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, performance optimization, and BI architecture.
- Experience setting Tableau standards, driving governance, and mentoring team members.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
- Familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- A proactive, ownership-driven attitude with the flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
