Lead - System Engineering

AI overview

Define and architect complex hardware products, ensuring seamless integration across disciplines while managing a talented engineering team in the evolving EV landscape.

You’ll be working with the product and engineering team.

This team runs on coffee with an infectious passion to build products that have never been built before. Our Flexible Energy Stack consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station) which together unlock 15-minute rapid charging.

Our philosophy: Break. Believe. Build.

There’s no playbook for disruption. The only way to create a radical future is to continuously break, believe and build — You have to BREAK stuff, assumptions and the thumb rule. You have to BELIEVE in the process, in the team and through failures. You have to BUILD fast & passionately and build to simplify.

What you'll do:

This position bridges electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and regulatory disciplines to ensure that all subsystems work together to deliver robust, reliable physical products that deliver product and business requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop system architecture, including block diagrams, interface definitions, and cross-functional integration plans.
  • Work with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software teams to ensure subsystem compatibility and alignment.
  • Conduct modeling and system-level analysis (thermal, power, reliability, controls, etc.).
  • Lead risk analysis, trade studies, and technical decision-making.
  • Own verification and validation (V&V) planning, including defining system test protocols.
  • Support system integration during prototype bring-up and debug cross-disciplinary issues.
  • Maintain system documentation, requirement traceability, and regulatory compliance readiness.
  • Contribute to failure analysis (FMEA), field issue resolution, and continuous improvement of product robustness.
  • Ensure the cross compatibility of spec sheets (forward and backward) of products within the exponent ecosystem.
